While there is nothing quite like the excitement and fun of standing in line for and sitting in the audience of a television show taping, I have to say I get more excited about the idea of what's going on behind-the-scenes. I guess that's natural; it's the producer in me.

I find it almost impossible to sit still in the audience since I always want to know what the producer is doing at any given time. Instead of paying attention and being in the moment of the event, my eyes and mind are wandering; thinking about what everyone else from the producer, camera man, and prop guys are doing to keep the show running. I want to know what is going on backstage before the show, during the show and commercial breaks, and then after the show.
I spent a lot of time this weekend thinking about what it takes to get a show up and running. As the new Executive Producer of the talk show "Our Take" on the new satellite news channel Arise TV (www.arise.tv), I will be working on the launch of the program. Hosted by Arise TV personality Christina Brown, the show will debut on June 10. I'll tell you more about this project later.
Today I'll give you a glimpse behind-the-scenes of a few shows I've visited lately. Yes, the shows and sets may be different, but just know that each one has similar moving parts to get it on the air.
Starting with an appropriate set.
