Today begins the the last week of August and we have a few fun posts lined up for your reading pleasure. Our summer series, "Tell Me...How Did You Get Into Television?" is winding down as the Awards season is gearing up. David Michaels, Senior Executive Director and Co-Executive Producer of The Daytime Emmy Awards (National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences), is our featured guest post this week. He's got a big title for a good reason. It's a big job. In plain words he writes, "I'm responsible for the entire Emmy contest as well as having major input into the Broadcast."
Wow! Talk about pressure!
David will share his journey into television and tell us more about why this is his favorite job to date. "My favorite TV job has been producing the “$25,000” and “$100,000 PYRAMID” shows starring Dick Clark."
Find out more about David in this Wednesday's Ready4Air.

The interview will reveal the unforgiving reality about television schedule, not programming schedule, but the real life schedule of a producer. It's can be pretty brutal, especially if it's in the news industry. If you are looking for a 9 to 5 job/career, keep looking because working in television is not going to be your cup of tea.
Finally tonight, August 26 at 9:30pm, we get a head start on the "Today" show's new book club with the next installment of Book Case TV. Host and book private investigator Frank Debonair ventures out to the yearly Book Expo and discusses his latest findings featuring new voices in American literature.
At Book Expo America, Frederic Colier interviews romance writer Bella Andre, author of "The Look of Love," as well as newcomer Koethi Zan ("The Never List").
I read that Andre loves romances novels and used to read at least one a day. I was once big fan of romance novels in high school. Anyone remember Barbara Cartland?

Frederic also speaks with erotic writer Lisa Renee Jones ("Being Me"), ooh la, la and the sci-fi sensation Hugh Howey, author of "Wool". Howey revealed recently that patience is the key to self-publishing. He said, "With self-publishing, it could be ten years before your books take off, so you don’t have to be impatient with the book doing well, and you also can spend more time writing."
During the episode’s Book World segment we meet Steve Gottlieb from Shindig.com, a NYC start-up platform committed to unleashing the unrealized potential of video chat. Writer Mary Higgins Clark is on hand to test out the platform as Steve explains how the platform works.
Book Case TV's The Pick of the Week segment focuses entirely on first-time novelists including Stuart Nadler ("Wise Men"), Erin Morgenstern ("The Night Circus"), Louisa Hall ("The Carriage House"), and Iris Smyles ("Iris Has Free Time").
Now here's a little look at what's to come on Monday night:
Tune in to NYC Life Channel 25 at 9:30PM EST to get more from these amazing writers.
