Foodie Friday: Two Words...."Yes, Chef" (VIDEO)

In this morning's Foodie Friday I visit with Restaurateur, TV personality and author  Chef Marcus Samuelsson.  If Samuelsson isn't tweeting, he's appearing on television as a guest chef or judge, attending a culinary event, making sure his customers are happy at his Harlem restaurant the Red Rooster or writing a book. His latest is "Yes Chef: A Memoir".

I've often wondered where Samuelsson gets his energy to do everything and what seems like everywhere.   In February I caught up to the James Beard Award winning Chef at the C-CAP annual food event honoring Chef Michael McCarty.  Samuelsson  is also a Board member of  Career through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) a program for teenagers who want to work as a chef or in other areas of the culinary world. The  20 year old program, works with teachers and students in 165 public schools nationwide to help them pursue their culinary dreams.  To date C-CAP has awarded over $34 million in scholarships to hundreds of kids and set the foundation for several successful graduate's culinary careers.

James Beard Foundation Chefs & Champagne July 2012
This summer I met up again with Samuelsson , a judge on Food Network's competition show Chopped,   at the James Beard Foundation Chefs & Champagne event where he, and his fellow show judges  and show host Ted Allen were honored. On this beautiful day,  I was able to ask him a few quick questions for The Blogger Connection about "Yes, Chef: A Memoir".  Most fans know that Samuelsson is Ethiopian born and raised in Sweden.  Chef Samuelsson says the book tells you a lot more.  Click on the video to listen.

Yes, Chef!  I will take you up on that invitation.  See you at Red Rooster real soon. LOL!
