It's been two years since the Fashion Week runways left the tents of Bryant Park for their latest home Lincoln Center.
I covered the last FW shows under the tents for CBS News The Early Show in a snowy February 2010 with style maven Mary Alice Stephenson (@MaryAliceStyle) who found the most stylish fashionista's ready to bring lots of attitude to the party.
Call me crazy but I still miss the chaos, huddled masses of designers, celebrities, models and reporters mixed together under one makeshift roof for a week long celebration of fashion.
Colors were bright, fur was flying and the ladies weren't afraid to mix a little leather with polka dots (look closely at the stockings above) and one daring lady even wore stripes from head to toe.
I wasn't surprised to see leopard print is still trending. I had on my leopard boots and decided to count who else was wearing the bold animal print. As a handbag it worked with a plaid cape, a leather jacket made a leopard dress edgy.
While a cute pair of leopard booties was the ultimate accent piece, an oversized clutch could hold more than expected. I caught up to these three ladies and got them on camera but trust me there were others roaming around the room.
Stepping out to the event was a good idea. In the past I always found these FW fashionistas great candidates to be television style experts. Style was alive and well in this downtown pop up store.
But I must admit a part of me still missed those Bryant Park tents. What about you? Drop a line about this year's Fashion Week. The 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week ends on Thursday February 16th.

I LOVE it! I must admit I'm more at home in my jeans and flat boots. Tell, me, how exactly DOES one walk in those high, HIGH heels?
